Opening Ceremony of City Exhibition 2016
Date: 8th July 2016
Venue: URA Centre Atrium
Time: 7.00pm

The City Exhibition is an annual event to showcase selected works of students from the NUS Department of Architecture, including specialisations from Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning and Urban Design.

The Opening Ceremony also marks the beginning of The Architecture Series, a set of public events that aim to get people thinking about architecture, including TAS Debates (15/7) and TAS films (22/7). Our Guest of Honour will be Mr Alfred Wong, the first recipient of the Singapore Institute of Architects Gold Medal.

The theme for this year's exhibition is 'DELIGHT'. In De Architectura, Marcus Vitruvius Pollio's asserts three elements of architecture; firmness (firmitas), utility (utilitas), delight (venustas). Architecture aspires to be delightful, not only as product but also as process: the act of creation and solution. This exhibition aims to evoke delight in everyone.

The exhibition will be open to public at the URA Centre (45 Maxwell Road) from 9th to 29th July (except Sundays and public holidays), from 8:30AM to 5:00PM.
