Architecture Students Won Student Achievement Awards 2017 -
Community Service Silver Award
15 architecture students from Year 2 to Year 4, won the NUS 12th Student Achievement Awards 2017, Community Service (Silver Award) on 17th Feb 2017. The ceremony was held at the University Cultural Centre. There were over 40 nominations in their category. They were mentored by Dr. Tan Beng Kiang and Dr. Abel Tablada.
Students designed and built a team-building structure at Smile Village, Cambodia, to facilitate training programs for youths, residents, staff, visitors and volunteers from schools and corporations worldwide as part of the Smile Village’s Community based Tourism program. Smile Village provides shelter to 71 families from the slums, as well as skill training and job procurement so that the families can find stable employment and permanent homes.
