Yogyakarta Earthquake Disaster
Community Service Project, 2006 |
|
This
project was in collaboration with Universitas Kristen
Duta Wacana (UKDW), Yogyakarta, Indonesia and Habitat
for Humanity. A team of our architecture undergraduates
and Masters students participated in a joint studio with
Indonesian students to design and build a community hall
for a village affected by the earthquake in Yogyakarta.
It was funded by donations from corporations and
architecture firms. |

Lijiang,
China, 2002 |
|
As
part of the special elective module, a group of students
participated in the design and building of Yuhu
Elementary School in Lijiang, China. This initiative was
supported by the Youth Expedition Project (YEP) of the
Singapore International Foundation (SIF), NUS and the
local government of Lijiang. |

Operation
NAJORT, Thailand, 2000 |
|
This
operation was integrated with the Singapore
International Foundation - Youth Expedition Project (SIF
- YEP) programme. Its aim was to expose Masters Level
students to community service overseas and at the same
time fulfil design pedagogical objectives. |
