Theme of 2004: Street, Urban Space and Representation
Papers are invited on all aspects of research on street, urban space, city and urban design. We particularly welcome those papers addressing the following subjects or subthemes:

 

 

Asian Streets: Theory and Practice:

  • Design and planning of Asian street and boulevard
  • Asian streets: historical, social, economic, political, cultural and design aspects
  • Public space: design, use and social context through Asian experience
  • Urban redevelopment, revitalization and its impact on Asian streets and public Spaces
  • Urban design case studies and large-scale urban projects in East Asia

Urban Space and Representation:

  • Methodologies of urban analysis, mapping and the representations of urban space
  • Ways of seeing the Asian City through media: film, video, performance art, etc.
  • Emergent Technologies such as GIS, CAD and Multimedia for urban representation, visualization, spatial analysis and urban design decision making
