The workshop programme explored issues of Comfort, Convenience and Delight in the City.

For commuters along Singapore River who live in close contact with the exterior climate, the River Taxi stand design is recognised as a crucial element in the drive to improve the quality of experience.

The workshop encouraged students to design an acceptable level of habitability and comfort by making full use of the given environmental conditions. In addition to being a functional stop, the River Taxi stand was viewed as a destination; a kind of outdoor 'living room'/tropical public space that conveys a 'sense of welcome'.
