CITIES-IN-SITU: TOWARDS A NEW SLUM ECOLOGY
For Delhi’s 2010 Commonwealth Games, the state proposed using bamboo to screen off slums from sight. Cities-In-Situ questions the role of architecture in this socio-politically charged subject.
The thesis explores the link between perception, materiality and space that create active physical and social intervention. It postulates the potential influence in the relationship and negotiation between slums and the politics of urban spaces.
