Implementation of 5 day work week for Department of Architecture.

Final Year Industrial Design student Lee Tze Ming has won the second prize for the Intermot Designpreis, under the professional category. This category includes students and young designers. The theme of the competition was motorcycles/scooters for the young.

The project was done during Tze Ming's period of student exchange in the University of Duisburg-Essen and was supervised by Professor Kurt Mehnert. Tze Ming's winning concept: A lighter, safer bike for young riders. Improved riding posture, road visibility and safety features as well as greater confidence and peace of mind for riders and their loved ones.

Honourable Mention - Tan Jia Yee (M.Arch 2)

Ong & Ong Travelling Fellowship 2003/2004(Architecture) - Winners:
BAArch category - Ng Hiok Hoe, Ernest (BAArch 3)
BAArch category - Goh Yong Qin (BAArch 2)

Assoc Prof Joseph Lim won the Merit Award for the Southern Ridges Bridge Design Competition. His entry defeated amongst others Arup San Francisco USA, Ty Lin SEA, Tongji University Design & Research Institute China, Erdevicki Structural Engineering Canada and Takenaka Architectural Developers Co Ltd Japan. 65 submissions were received, with 11 from USA, UK, Japan, S Korea and China. The competition was organised by Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), National Parks Boad (NPB) and Land Transport Authority (LTA).
