Industrial
Design student Brian Chuan Chai Law won
the 2nd prize in the Electrolux
Design Lab Award 2006
for his Organic Cook portable
cooking unit, which uses high-efficiency
radiant energy to cook without fat when
frying, grilling or broiling.

Hundreds of
other design students from 37 countries around
the world entered this year's competition and
were challenged to seek solutions that promote
healthy eating habits for the 2016 consumer. |

Industrial
Design student Tan Yong Kai won the top
20 iF concept award product 2007. 530
entries from 32 countries were received and
only the top 20 will get an award. iF is one
of the top design awards from the commercial
design world and Yong Kai's winning entry will
be published in the iF design year book as
well.

Industrial
Design student Lim Sun Liang was honored
with the Red-Dot: Best of the Best.
The competition this year saw 478 submissions
from 40 countries, which the jury noted were
of higher quality over last year's
entries. They have awarded 60 "Red
Dot" awards and 12 "Red Dot: Best of
the Best" awards. Lian

One
group of Industrial Design students won the
Bronze prize of the 2006 Liteon Awards, and
another two groups of students won The Panel of
Judges Special Awards. The details of the design
and students' names are as follows:

Award: Seek Slider: designed by SIOW Mei Yee and CHEN Wenshan
The Panel of
Judges Special Awards: Soundtouch,
designed by Victor ONG and Joanna LIM
Music Rack,
designed by NGAN Han Siong and Yong Yingxuan
There were 1661
entries for this year competition and the
entries can be viewed on the Award’s
website. The submission projects are
collaborated with Nakamichi. |

Industrial
Design students Gabriel Tan and Wendy Chua
was awarded a Bronze prize in the Industiral
Design Excellence Awards 2006 (IDEA). The
Industrial Design Excellence Awards are
dedicated to fostering business and public
understanding of the importance of
industrial design excellence to the quality
of life and the economy. Winning the IDEA is
a distinction like no other that brands your
design as the very best in the business,
among your peers, among your clients, among
consumers around the world. Sponsored by
BusinessWeek and judged independently by the
Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA),
the contest is one of the most important of
its kind.The National University of
Singapore is the only winner outside the USA
in the Student Category. The work can be

website. This work was also the winner
of Electrolux Lab Award in 2005. |

Three Industrial
Design students and one Industrial Design alumni
entries were selected as Excellent Works in the
International Design Competition Osaka 2005.
International Design Competition Osaka is one of
the most prestigious design awards globally.
KITA-san was the previous chairman of this
competition. The theme of this competition was "
E N E R G Y ". A total of 889 entries from
up-coming young designers and planners of 44
countries and regions around the world were
received. Due to rigorous examination by
experts, 67 excellent works were selected with
the subject of the business matchmaking. The

Industrial
Design students Chin Yit Sheng, Eugene and
Tan
Yong Kai bag iF Concept Award Material 2006! A
prestigious trademark for outstanding design,
an iF award is a symbol of commitment to
innovation and a willingness to face the
competition. This international competition had
639 entries from over 33 nations this year and
only 14 entries has been honored the iF Award.
The "iF Design Award" is one of four most
prestigious annually design awards (iF
Award, Red Dot Award, G-Mark
Award
and
IDEA) recognized by the industries worldwide. It
is often referred to as the "Design Oscars" by
industries worldwide.Since its inauguration in
1953, the iF Design Award has existed as an
enduring and prestigious trademark for
outstanding design. Companies and design studios
deploy the iF seal in their communication
campaigns as a visible symbol of product and

year Industrial Design students's works have
been selected as Top 20 Overall Entries for the
2005 International Photoreal Furniture Design
Competition! This competition is all about
designers creating cutting edge computer
assisted (or 'photoreal') furniture designs; and
their reflection in the tangible world may be
evident if these products make it to market. The
4 students are: Lin Weizheng, Cici Chen, Victor
