  Industrial Design alumni Mr. Joe Tan (AY04/05) won the Gold Prize in the Opus Design Award 2007. Considered one of the top eyewear design competitions around the world, the competition attracted 756 works from 54 countries. Click here for more information.

  [ September 2007 ]
  Industrial Design graduate Donn Koh won the prestigious BraunPrize 2007 with his project "Leapfrog”. Four finalists from four different countries managed to be in the last stage of the competition this year. 907 entries from 54 countries participated in this competition.
     
     

LeapFrog combines stander & walker functionality - it transforms, and assists, in sync with the paraplegic child’s intention to sit, stand, or walk. This enables more frequent practice with lower supervision.
Besides supporting physical development, sense of independence and esteem, LeapFrog also turns ‘painful’ medical engineering aesthetics into humane, sociable, toy-like approachability.

  Industrial Design graduate Terence Woon won the Silver Awards from The 20th Koizumi International Lighting Design Competition for Students.

This year, 1084 entries from 165 universities (15 countries) worldwide were received in this Japan-based design competition.

ID graduate Yap Hock Heng and ID student Terence Woon were selected as finalists in the Lightouch Design Competition 2007. A total of 939 entries from 53 countries were received for this competition organized by DesignSingapore Council in partnership with FLOS and supported by Space Furniture, Temasek Polytechnic and National University of Singapore. The LighTouch Design competition is an international competition seeking innovative lighting solutions that are functional, adaptable, modular and scalable.


  Industrial Design Students and Design Incubation Center Staff won 5 awards from this year's Liteon Awards 2007. There were more than 1700 entries from 23 countries this year. For details of the winning designs, please click here.

  ID students Ong Zhen Qi, Lim Sun Liang and Low Lin Kiat won 1st, 2nd and Merit awards respectively from this year Singapore Furniture Design Award.

ID graduate Chen Xi won 2nd prize in the Young Designer Category and Merit Award in Open Category.

ID alumni Ms. Lee Yun Qin won the Silver Prize of International Design Competition Nagoya Design Go 2006. "NAGOYA DESIGN DO!" is a program designed to provide an opportunity for young, talented designers to develop their skills and exchange ideas with one another.
